Molecular Function
The yeast heterotetrameric GINS complex is made up of Sld5, Psf1 (GINS1; MIM 610608), Psf2 (GINS2; MIM 610609), and Psf3 (GINS3; MIM 610610). The formation of the GINS complex is essential for the initiation of DNA replication in yeast and Xenopus egg extracts (Ueno et al., 2005 [PubMed 16287864]). See GINS1 for additional information about the GINS complex.

NCBI Description

The yeast heterotetrameric GINS complex is made up of Sld5, Psf1 (GINS1; MIM 610608), Psf2 (GINS2; MIM 610609), and Psf3 (GINS3; MIM 610610). The formation of the GINS complex is essential for the initiation of DNA replication in yeast and Xenopus egg extracts (Ueno et al., 2005 [PubMed 16287864]). See GINS1 for additional information about the GINS complex.[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

GINS4: The GINS complex plays an essential role in the initiation of DNA replication, and progression of DNA replication forks. GINS4 is important for GINS complex assembly. GINS complex seems to bind preferentially to single-stranded DNA. Belongs to the GINS4/SLD5 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p11.21

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: mitotic cell cycle; DNA strand elongation during DNA replication; inner cell mass cell proliferation

Product Notes

The SLD5 gins4 (Catalog #AAA4754564) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SLD5 Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SLD5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SLD5 gins4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SLD5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
