Related Product Information for anti-SIRT3 antibody
Background: Silent information regulator (Sir2)-like family deacetylases (also known as sirtuins) are highly conserved proteins and have important roles in the regulation of metabolism, inflammation, cellular survival growth and differentiation. SIRT3 is a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Yeast sirtuin proteins are found to regulate epigenetic gene silencing. Sirtuins are NAD-dependent protein ADP-ribosyl transferase which catalyzes the transfer of ADP-ribosyl groups onto target proteins.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been described for this gene. Uniprot Description

SIRT3: a soluble mitochondrial NAD-dependent protein deacetylase. Can deacetylate and thereby activate a central metabolic regulator in the mitochondrial matrix, glutamate dehydrogenase. Mitochondrial proteins are hyperacetylated in SIRT3-deficient mice, but not in SIRT4 or SIRT5 deficient mice. SIRT3-deficient mice have no obvious metabolic phenotype, and the process of adaptive thermogenesis is normal. Can deacetylate and activate isocitrate dehydrogenase 2, an enzyme that participates in regulation of the citric acid cycle and the regeneration of antioxidants. Inhibited by nicotinamide, but not by trichostatin A. Its unprocessed form is enzymatically inactive. It is processed by mitochondrial processing peptidase (MPP) in the mitochondrial matrix to give an enzymatically active 28 kDa product.

Product Notes

The SIRT3 sirt3 (Catalog #AAA840166) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SIRT3 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SIRT3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot analysis (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. Blocking peptide is available separately. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SIRT3 sirt3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SIRT3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
