Specificity
The porcine peptide sequence is 61% conserved in human SGLT3. No significant sequence homology exists with other SGLTs. For mouse SGLT3, we recommend the use antibody and SG-32 for human SGLT-3 that are made to the mouse and human SGLT-3 peptide, respectively. Control peptide, because of its low MW (<3kD), is not suitable for Western. It should be used for ELISA or antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 ug control peptide per 1 ug of aff pure IgG or 1 ul antiserum) to confirm antibody specificity This antibody has previsouly been available as for porcine SGLT-2. The same antibody is now reclassified as porcine SGLT-3.

Form/Format
Serum
Supplied as a liquid, neat serum, 40% glycerol.
Applicable Applications for anti-SGLT-3 antibody
ELISA, Western Blot
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 for neat serum and 1-10ug/ml for affinity pure using ECL. A band of 95-110kD has been detected in brush border membrane (2).
ELISA:1:10,000-50,000 for neat serum and 0.5-1ug/ml for affinity purified. Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1ug/ml.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Immunogen
A 14 AA peptide sequence from the N-terminal, cytoplasmic domain 1 of pig SGLT-3 (1) was synthesized, coupled to KLH
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Product Notes

The SGLT-3 (Catalog #AAA613308) is an Antibody produced from Host: Rabbit Source: Porcine and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti - SGLT-3 (Sodium Glucose Transporter 3) reacts with Porcine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SGLT-3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SGLT-3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SGLT-3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
