Related Product Information for anti-SERCA1 antibody
This gene encodes one of the SERCA Ca(2+)-ATPases, which are intracellular pumps located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticula of muscle cells. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is involved in muscular excitation and contraction. Mutations in this gene cause some autosomal recessive forms of Brody disease, characterized by increasing impairment of muscular relaxation during exercise. Alternative splicing results in three transcript variants encoding different isoforms. There are 3 major domains on the cytoplasmic face of SERCA: the phosphorylation and nucleotide-binding domains, which form the catalytic site, and the actuator domain, which is involved in the transmission of major conformational changes. It seems that, in addition to the calcium-transporting properties, SERCA1 generates heat in some adipocytes [1][2] and can improve cold tolerance in some wood frogs.

Uniprot Description

ATP2A1: This magnesium-dependent enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen. Contributes to calcium sequestration involved in muscular excitation/contraction. Associated with sarcolipin (SLN) and phospholamban (PLN). Increased contractile activity leads to a decrease in SERCA1 expression, while decreased contractile activity leads to an increase in SERCA1 expression. Skeletal muscle, fast twitch muscle (type II) fibers. Reversibly inhibited by phospholamban (PLN) at low calcium concentrations. Dephosphorylated PLN decreases the apparent affinity of the ATPase for calcium. This inhibition is regulated by the phosphorylation of PLN. Belongs to the cation transport ATPase (P-type) (TC 3.A.3) family. Type IIA subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The SERCA1 atp2a1 (Catalog #AAA3013423) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SERCA1 ATPase Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SERCA1 ATPase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:1,000 IP: 1:10-1:50 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERCA1 atp2a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SERCA1 ATPase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
