Related Product Information for anti-SCYL2 antibody
SCYL2 is a component of AP2-containing clathrin coated structures at the plasma membrane or of endocytic coated vesicles. SCYL2 is a probable serine/threonine-protein kinase that phosphorylates, in vitro, the beta2-subunit of the plasma membrane adapter complex AP2 and other proteins in presence of poly-L-lysine. SCYL2 may also regulate clathrin-dependent trafficking between the TGN and/or the endosomal system.

Uniprot Description

SCYL2: Component of AP2-containing clathrin coated structures at the plasma membrane or of endocytic coated vesicles. According to PubMed:15809293, probable serine/threonine-protein kinase that phosphorylates, in vitro, the beta2-subunit of the plasma membrane adapter complex AP2 and other proteins in presence of poly-L- lysine. According to PubMed:16914521, has no detectable kinase activity in vitro. May regulate clathrin-dependent trafficking between the TGN and/or the endosomal system. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily.

Protein type: Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Protein kinase, Other; Kinase, protein; Other group; SCY1 family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q23.1

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; clathrin-coated vesicle; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; endosome membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; ATP binding; receptor binding; protein kinase activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of receptor internalization; endosome to lysosome transport; protein amino acid phosphorylation

Product Notes

The SCYL2 scyl2 (Catalog #AAA9208590) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 643-672. The SCYL2 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SCYL2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SCYL2 scyl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SCYL2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
