NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a large protein whose specific function is unknown. Absence of the orthologous protein in mouse results in embryonic lethality with deficient axial rotation, abnormal differentiation of the neural tube, and randomized looping of the heart tube during development. In human, mutations in this gene are associated with polymicrogyria with seizures. In human fibroblasts this protein localizes at the ciliary basal bodies. Given the intracellular localization of this protein and the phenotypic effects of mutations, this gene is suspected of playing a role in the maintenance of normal ciliary structure which in turn effects the developmental process of left-right organ specification, axial rotation, and perhaps notochord development. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]
Uniprot Description
Involved in the genetic cascade that governs left-right specification. Plays a role in the maintenance of a normal ciliary structure. Required for correct asymmetric expression of NODAL, LEFTY and PITX2.

Product Notes
The RTTN rttn (Catalog #AAA7113331) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RTTN Antibody, HRP Conjugated reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RTTN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RTTN rttn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RTTN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
