NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring RPL17 (ribosomal protein L17) and C18orf32 (chromosome 18 open reading frame 32) genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. The encoded isoforms share sequence identity with the RPL17 protein, but they include frameshifted C-terminal regions derived from the downstream gene exons. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Uniprot Description
RPL17: a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein belongs to the L22P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. This gene has been referred to as rpL23 because the encoded protein shares amino acid identity with ribosomal protein L23 from Halobacterium marismortui; however, its official symbol is RPL17. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream C18orf32 (chromosome 18 open reading frame 32) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Product Notes
The RPL17 rpl17 (Catalog #AAA9126541) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RPL17 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RPL17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:200 - 1:2000 IHC: 1:50 - 1:200 IP: 1:20 - 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RPL17 rpl17 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RPL17, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
