Related Product Information for anti-RHCE antibody
RHCE (Rh Blood Group CcEe Antigens) is a Protein Coding gene. The RHCE gene, located on 1p36.11, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, and frog. The RH blood group system has many RHCE variant alleles that have arisen through gene conversion or nucleotide changes. A mutation in gene RHCE results in amorph-type Rh-null disease. RHCE may be part of an oligomeric complex which is likely to have a transport or channel function in the erythrocyte membrane. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms. Diseases associated with RHCE include Rh-Null, Amorph Type, and Retinohepatoendocrinologic Syndrome. 95 organisms have orthologs with the human gene RHCE.

NCBI Description

The Rh blood group system is the second most clinically significant of the blood groups, second only to ABO. It is also the most polymorphic of the blood groups, with variations due to deletions, gene conversions, and missense mutations. The Rh blood group includes this gene which encodes both the RhC and RhE antigens on a single polypeptide and a second gene which encodes the RhD protein. The classification of Rh-positive and Rh-negative individuals is determined by the presence or absence of the highly immunogenic RhD protein on the surface of erythrocytes. A mutation in this gene results in amorph-type Rh-null disease. Alternative splicing of this gene results in four transcript variants encoding four different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

RHCE: May be part of an oligomeric complex which is likely to have a transport or channel function in the erythrocyte membrane. Belongs to the ammonium transporter (TC 2.A.49) family. Rh subfamily. 14 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.11

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: ammonium transmembrane transporter activity

Disease: Blood Group--rhesus System E Polypeptide

Product Notes

The RHCE rhce (Catalog #AAA8101176) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-RHCE Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RHCE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RHCE rhce for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RHCE, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
