Related Product Information for anti-RGS19 antibody
Description: RGS19 enhances the intrinsic GTPase-activating protein activity of the Galphai3 protein, which stimulates autophagy by favoring the GDP-bound form of Galphai3. Macroautophagy is the major inducible pathway for the general turnover of cytoplasmic constituents in eukaryotic cells, it is also responsible for the degradation of active cytoplasmic enzymes and organelles during nutrient starvation. Macroautophagy involves the formation of double-membrane bound autophagosomes which enclose the cytoplasmic constituent targeted for degradation in a membrane bound structure, which then fuse with the lysosome (or vacuole) releasing a single-membrane bound autophagic bodies which are then degraded within the lysosome (or vacuole).

Background: Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Binds to G-alpha subfamily 1 members, with the order G(i)a3 > G(i)a1 > G(o)a >> G(z)a/G(i)a2. Activity on G(z)-alpha is inhibited by phosphorylation and palmitoylation of the G-protein.

NCBI Description

G proteins mediate a number of cellular processes. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the RGS (regulators of G-protein signaling) family and specifically interacts with G protein, GAI3. This protein is a guanosine triphosphatase-activating protein that functions to down-regulate Galpha i/Galpha q-linked signaling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein isoform have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

RGS19: inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of g protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Binds to G-alpha subfamily 1 members, with the order G(I)a3 > G(I)a1 > G(O)a >> G(Z)a/G(I)a2. Activity on G(Z)-alpha is inhibited by phosphorylation and palmitoylation of the G-protein.

Product Notes

The RGS19 rgs19 (Catalog #AAA9217097) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RGS19 Antibody (S24) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RGS19 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). WB:~~1:1000 IHC-P:~~1:10~50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RGS19 rgs19 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RGS19, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
