Related Product Information for anti-RFC1 antibody
This gene encodes the large subunit of replication factor C, a five subunit DNA polymerase accessory protein, which is a DNA-dependent ATPase required for eukaryotic DNA replication and repair. The large subunit acts as an activator of DNA polymerases, binds to the 3' end of primers, and promotes coordinated synthesis of both strands. It may also have a role in telomere stability. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the large subunit of replication factor C, a five subunit DNA polymerase accessory protein, which is a DNA-dependent ATPase required for eukaryotic DNA replication and repair. The large subunit acts as an activator of DNA polymerases, binds to the 3' end of primers, and promotes coordinated synthesis of both strands. It may also have a role in telomere stability. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

RFC1: a DNA binding protein that may play a role in DNA transcription regulation as well as DNA replication and/or repair. Can bind single- or double-stranded DNA. The elongation of primed DNA templates by DNA polymerase delta and epsilon requires the action of the accessory proteins PCNA and RFC1. The RFC1 subunit binds to the primer-template junction. Binds the PO-B transcription element as well as other GA rich DNA sequences. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The RFC1 rfc1 (Catalog #AAA416869) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-RFC1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RFC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Optimal dilutions to be determined by researchers. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RFC1 rfc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RFC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
