Application Notes
IHC-P: This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human colon/rectum adenocarcinoma. The recommended concentration is 1ug/ml with an overnight incubation at 4 degree C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Optimal results for these conditions were achieved without antigen retrieval.
ELISA: To detect Human RELMbeta; by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human RELMbeta as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Human RELMbeta.
WB: To detect Human RELMbeta by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human RELMbeta is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

May be stored at 4 degree C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive.

Human RELM beta (Resistin-like molecule beta/FIZZ2) is a new member to the family of adipocyte secreted proteins called adipocytokines. This family includes the RELM alpha, RELM beta and Resistin molecules. Interestingly, RELM beta and Resistin share similar characteristics such as an additional cysteine residue within the variable N-terminal region and are both homodimeric proteins. However, the RELM beta is expressed only in the gastrointestinal track; especially the colon, while the Resistin and RELM beta are secreted exclusively by adipocytes. Currently, the biological function of these proteins, as well as their molecular targets is largely unknown.
