NCBI Description

Renalase is a flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent amine oxidase that is secreted into the blood from the kidney (Xu et al., 2005 [PubMed 15841207]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Probable FAD-dependent amine oxidase secreted by the kidney, which circulates in blood and modulates cardiac function and systemic blood pressure. Degrades catecholamines such as dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine in vitro. Lowers blood pressure in vivo by decreasing cardiac contractility and heart rate and preventing a compensatory increase in peripheral vascular tone, suggesting a causal link to the increased plasma catecholamine and heightened cardiovascular risk. High concentrations of catecholamines activate plasma renalase and promotes its secretion and synthesis

By similarity. According to Ref.5, is unlikely that renalase has physiologically relevant catecholamine-oxidizing activity. Ref.4 Ref.5

Cofactor: FAD. Ref.6

Subcellular location: Secreted Ref.4.

Tissue specificity: Secreted into the blood by the kidney. Highly expressed in the kidney, expressed at lower level in heart, skeletal muscle and small intestine. Its plasma concentration is markedly reduced in patients with end-stage renal disease, as compared with healthy subjects. Ref.4

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the renalase family.

Product Notes

The RNLS rnls (Catalog #AAA646055) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Renalase (FAD-dependent amine oxidase, RNLS, Hypothetical protein LOC55328, FLJ11218, HGNC:25641, Chromosome 10 open reading frame 59, C10orf59) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Renalase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:64000 Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RNLS rnls for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Renalase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
