Source
Purified normal IgM isolated from pooled bovine serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure
Reactivity Note
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiSerum has not been tested in detail.
Product
Biotin-coupled purified hyperimmune rabbit IgG lyophilized from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. It is reconstituted by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20°C.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized conjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the immunoconjugate.
Related Product Information for Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific) secondary antibody
Background:
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgM molecule which expresses strict isotypic (class) specificity. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in bovine serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical staining for the detection of IgM at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; to demonstrate circulating IgM antibodies in microbiology and autoimmune diseases; to identify a specific antigen using an reference antibody of bovine origin known to be of the IgM isotype in the middle layer of the indirect test procedure; in non-isotopic assay methodology (e.g. ELISA) to measure IgM in bovine serum or other body fluids. As a second step an avidin or streptavidin conjugate of the user’s choice has to be used. This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal

Product Notes

The Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific) (Catalog #AAA571296) is a Secondary Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific), conjugated with Biotin reacts with Cattle and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot blot ELISA Immunoblotting Immunocytochemistry Immunohistochemistry (paraffin). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific) for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Rabbit anti Bovine IgM (Fc specific), Polyclonal Secondary Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
