Related Product Information for anti-PZP antibody
Pregnancy Zone protein is a 1, 482 amino acid secreted protein that belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 family and exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms. Expressed predominately in plasma and in late-pregnancy sera, Pregnancy Zone protein functions as a disulfide-linked homotetramer that is able to trap and inhibit proteinases, thus playing a role in the regulation of protein splitting and small peptide formation. The gene encoding Pregnancy Zone protein maps to human chromosome 12, which encodes over 1, 100 genes and comprises approximately 4.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 12 is associated with a variety of diseases and afflictions, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Noonan syndrome and Trisomy 12p, which causes facial developmental defects and seizure disorders.

Uniprot Description

PZP: Is able to inhibit all four classes of proteinases by a unique 'trapping' mechanism. This protein has a peptide stretch, called the 'bait region' which contains specific cleavage sites for different proteinases. When a proteinase cleaves the bait region, a conformational change is induced in the protein which traps the proteinase. The entrapped enzyme remains active against low molecular weight substrates (activity against high molecular weight substrates is greatly reduced). Following cleavage in the bait region a thioester bond is hydrolyzed and mediates the covalent binding of the protein to the proteinase. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2- macroglobulin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PZP pzp (Catalog #AAA1560289) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti PZP polyclonal antibody reacts with Human Other species were not tested and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PZP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). ICC: 1:50~200 IHC: 1:50~100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PZP pzp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PZP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
