Related Product Information for anti-PYCR2 antibody
This gene belongs to the pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase family. The encoded mitochondrial protein catalyzes the conversion of pyrroline-5-carboxylate to proline, which is the last step in proline biosynthesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase family. The encoded mitochondrial protein catalyzes the conversion of pyrroline-5-carboxylate to proline, which is the last step in proline biosynthesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]

Uniprot Description

PYCR2: Housekeeping enzyme that catalyzes the last step in proline biosynthesis. In some cell types, such as erythrocytes, its primary function may be the generation of NADP(+). Can utilize both NAD and NADP. Has higher affinity for NADP, but higher catalytic efficiency with NADH. Belongs to the pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase family.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - arginine and proline; Oxidoreductase; EC 1.5.1.2

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q42.12

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Molecular Function: pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase activity

Disease: Leukodystrophy, Hypomyelinating, 10

Product Notes

The PYCR2 pycr2 (Catalog #AAA4759390) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PYCR2 Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PYCR2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PYCR2 pycr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PYCR2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
