Related Product Information for anti-PTGER2 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 subtype(PTGER2) detection. Tested with WB in Human.

Background: Prostaglandin E2 receptor (53kDa), also known as EP2, is aprostaglandin receptor for prostaglandin E2. It is encoded by the human gene PTGER2. It may be associated with aspirin-induced asthma. PTGER2 is mapped to chromosome 14q22. This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

PTGER2: Receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G(s) proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. The subsequent raise in intracellular cAMP is responsible for the relaxing effect of this receptor on smooth muscle. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q22

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: prostaglandin E receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase activating pathway; regulation of cell proliferation; response to lipopolysaccharide; response to progesterone stimulus

Disease: Asthma, Nasal Polyps, And Aspirin Intolerance

Product Notes

The PTGER2 ptger2 (Catalog #AAA177748) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PTGER2 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PTGER2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTGER2 ptger2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTGER2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
