Related Product Information for anti-PSCA antibody
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases and are implicated in carcinogenesis. KLK 3 (also known as prostate speci c antigen) is a marker for prostatic cancer and is involved in the pathogenesis and/or progression of prostate, breast, and possibly other malignancies.

NCBI Description
This gene encodes a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell membrane glycoprotein. In addition to being highly expressed in the prostate it is also expressed in the bladder, placenta, colon, kidney, and stomach. This gene is up-regulated in a large proportion of prostate cancers and is also detected in cancers of the bladder and pancreas. This gene includes a polymorphism that results in an upstream start codon in some individuals; this polymorphism is thought to be associated with a risk for certain gastric and bladder cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Uniprot Description
Function: May be involved in the regulation of cell proliferation. Has a cell-proliferation inhibition activity in vitro. Ref.8
Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor › GPI-anchor.
Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in prostate (basal, secretory and neuroendocrine epithelium cells). Also found in bladder (transitional epithelium), placenta (trophoblasts), stomach (neuroendocrine cells), colon (neuroendocrine cells) and kidney (collecting ducts). Overexpressed in prostate cancers and expression is correlated with tumor stage, grade and androgen-independence. Highly expressed in prostate cancer bone metastases. Expressed in gastric epithelial cells, mainly in the isthmus (at protein level). Not detected in normal intestinal epithelium (at protein level). Ref.7 Ref.8
Induction: Down-regulated in gastric cancer cells. Ref.8
Polymorphism: Genetic variations in PSCA may influence susceptibility to diffuse-type gastric cancer.
Sequence similarities: Contains 1 UPAR/Ly6 domain.
Caution: The start codon presents some polymorphism and the initiation methionine is a threonine on the genome.
Product Notes
The PSCA psca (Catalog #
AAA646847) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Prostate Speci?c Antigen (PSA, Kallikrein-3, Kallikrein III, Seminin, Semenogelase, gamma-Seminoprotein, P-30 antigen, KLK3) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Prostate Speci?c Antigen can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:250-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PSCA psca for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Prostate Speci?c Antigen, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
