NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a paired-like homeodomain transcription factor in the developing pituitary gland. Expression occurs prior to and is required for expression of pou domain transcription factor 1, which is responsible for pituitary development and hormone expression. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined pituitary hormone deficiency-2 as well as deficiencies in luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, growth hormone, prolactin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. Uniprot Description
PROP1: Possibly involved in the ontogenesis of pituitary gonadotropes, as well as somatotropes, lactotropes and caudomedial thyrotropes. Defects in PROP1 are the cause of pituitary hormone deficiency combined type 2 (CPHD2); also known as pituitary dwarfism III. It is characterized by impaired production of growth hormone (GH) and one or more of the other five anterior pituitary hormones. Belongs to the paired homeobox family.
Protein type: DNA-binding

Product Notes
The PROP1 prop1 (Catalog #AAA9418261) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PROP1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PROP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PROP1 prop1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PROP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
