NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that specifically binds to a Pit1-binding element of the prolactin (PRL) promoter. This protein may act as a transcriptional regulator and is thought to be involved in some of the developmental abnormalities observed in patients with partial trisomy 2p. This gene overlaps the abhydrolase domain containing 1 (ABHD1) gene on the opposite strand. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PREB: Was first identified based on its probable role in the regulation of pituitary gene transcription. Binds to the prolactin gene (PRL) promoter and seems to activate transcription. Guanine nucleotide exchange factor that activates SARA2. Required for the formation of COPII transport vesicles from the ER.
Protein type: Transcription factor; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p23.3
Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; endoplasmic reticulum membrane; membrane; integral to membrane; nucleus

Product Notes
The PREB preb (Catalog #AAA9408712) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PREB Antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PREB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:20000-1:80000 WB: 1:200-1:1000 IHC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PREB preb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PREB, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
