NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase can interact with Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors (PIX), and thus block the effects of p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK), a protein kinase mediating biological effects downstream of Rho GTPases. Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II gamma (CAMK2G/CAMK-II) is found to be one of the substrates of this phosphatase. The overexpression of this phosphatase or CAMK2G has been shown to mediate caspase-dependent apoptosis. An alternatively spliced transcript variant has been identified, but its full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PPM1F: a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members can be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. Interact with PAK-interacting exchange factor beta (ARHGEF7), blocking the effects PAK1, a protein kinase mediating biological effects downstream of Rho GTPases. Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II gamma (CaMK2-gamma) is one of the substrates of this phosphatase. Promotes apoptosis.

Product Notes
The PPM1F ppm1f (Catalog #AAA6336393) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PPM1F, ID (PPM1F, KIAA0015, POPX2, Protein phosphatase 1F, Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase phosphatase, Partner of PIX 2, Protein fem-2 homolog) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPM1F can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPM1F ppm1f for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPM1F, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
