Related Product Information for anti-PPFIA3 antibody
The PPFIA3 protein is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family, a family of transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatases known to be important for axon guidance and mammary gland development (1). Similar to the other liprin family members, PPFIA3 can interact with ERC2, a member of the ELKS-Rab6-interacting protein-CAST family of proteins at the presynaptic termini, suggesting that these proteins may play a role in the molecular organization of presynaptic zones (2).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. Liprins interact with members of LAR family of transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatases, which are known to be important for axon guidance and mammary gland development. Liprin family protein has been shown to localize phosphatase LAR to cell focal adhesions and may be involved in the molecular organization of presynaptic active zones. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PPFIA3: a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. May localize receptor-like tyrosine phosphatases type 2A at specific sites on the plasma membrane, possibly regulating their interaction with the extracellular environment and their association with substrates. Contains 3 SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.33

Cellular Component: cell surface; presynaptic active zone; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; glutamate secretion; neurotransmitter secretion; regulation of short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity

Product Notes

The PPFIA3 ppfia3 (Catalog #AAA153488) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PPFIA3 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPFIA3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). PPFIA3 antibody can be used for detection of PPFIA3 by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPFIA3 ppfia3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPFIA3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
