Related Product Information for anti-PPARGC1B antibody
Description: Plays a role of stimulator of transcription factors and nuclear receptors activities. Activates transcriptional activity of estrogen receptor alpha, nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1) and glucocorticoid receptor in the presence of glucocorticoids. May play a role in constitutive non-adrenergic-mediated mitochondrial biogenesis as suggested by increased basal oxygen consumption and mitochondrial number when overexpressed. May be involved in fat oxidation and non-oxidative glucose metabolism and in the regulation of energy expenditure. Induces the expression of PERM1 in the skeletal muscle in an ESRRA-dependent manner.

Subunit Structure: Interacts with hepatocyte nuclear factor 4-alpha/HNF4A, Sterol regulatory binding transcription factor 1/SREBF1, PPAR-alpha/PPARA, thyroid hormone receptor beta/THRB and host cell factor/HCFC1. Interacts with estrogen-related receptor gamma/ESRRG and alpha/ESRRA. Interacts with PRDM16 (By similarity). Interacts with estrogen receptor alpha/ESR1.

Similarity: Contains 2 Leu-Xaa-Xaa-Leu-Leu (LXXLL) motif, which are usually required for the association with nuclear receptors.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene stimulates the activity of several transcription factors and nuclear receptors, including estrogen receptor alpha, nuclear respiratory factor 1, and glucocorticoid receptor. The encoded protein may be involved in fat oxidation, non-oxidative glucose metabolism, and the regulation of energy expenditure. This protein is downregulated in prediabetic and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Certain allelic variations in this gene increase the risk of the development of obesity. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Product Notes

The PPARGC1B ppargc1b (Catalog #AAA9611454) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PPARGC1B Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted: Pig, Bovine, Horse, Sheep, Rabbit, Dog and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPARGC1B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPARGC1B ppargc1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPARGC1B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
