Chimpanzee (Expected from Sequence), Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rabbit (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence)
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item detects peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor, delta (PPARD), a member of the nuclear hormone receptor subfamily. Upon activation, PPARD forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs), and functions to regulate transcription of specific gene sequences. PPARD controls genes involved in lipid metabolism, and enhances fatty acid catabolism and energy uncoupling in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle.

PPARD has also been implicated in the proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes, enterocytes, keratinocytes and the placenta.

PPARD agonists could be used therapeutically to target multiple components of the metabolic syndrome, including insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and atherosclerosis.

0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
Syntetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1-14 of mouse PPAR delta.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to PPAR delta were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

PPAR-delta: Ligand-activated transcription factor. Receptor that binds peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Has a preference for poly-unsaturated fatty acids, such as gamma-linoleic acid and eicosapentanoic acid. Once activated by a ligand, the receptor binds to promoter elements of target genes. Regulates the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Functions as transcription activator for the acyl-CoA oxidase gene. Decreases expression of NPC1L1 once activated by a ligand. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PPAR DELTA ppard (Catalog #AAA221543) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI PPAR DELTA (N-TERMINAL) reacts with Chimpanzee (Expected from Sequence), Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rabbit (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPAR DELTA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 55kDa in heart whole cell lysates. ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 1/2000; Maximum Dilution: 1/8000 Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/500; Maximum Dilution: 1/2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPAR DELTA ppard for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPAR DELTA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
