Related Product Information for anti-POLR2E antibody
This gene encodes the fifth largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA in eukaryotes. This subunit is shared by the other two DNA-directed RNA polymerases and is present in two-fold molar excess over the other polymerase subunits. An interaction between this subunit and a hepatitis virus transactivating protein has been demonstrated, suggesting that interaction between transcriptional activators and the polymerase can occur through this subunit. A pseudogene is located on chromosome 11.

Uniprot Description

POLR2E: DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Common component of RNA polymerases I, II and III which synthesize ribosomal RNA precursors, mRNA precursors and many functional non-coding RNAs, and small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs, respectively. Pol II is the central component of the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Pols are composed of mobile elements that move relative to each other. In Pol II, POLR2E/RPB5 is part of the lower jaw surrounding the central large cleft and thought to grab the incoming DNA template. Seems to be the major component in this process. Belongs to the archaeal RpoH/eukaryotic RPB5 RNA polymerase subunit family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; DNA-directed RNA polymerase III complex; DNA-directed RNA polymerase II, core complex; nucleus; cytosol; DNA-directed RNA polymerase I complex

Product Notes

The POLR2E polr2e (Catalog #AAA6335718) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The POLR2E, NT (POLR2E, DNA-directed RNA polymerases I, II, and III subunit RPABC1, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II 23kD polypeptide, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit E, RPB5 homolog, XAP4) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's POLR2E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the POLR2E polr2e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "POLR2E, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
