Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. Note: As fluorescence can photobleach when exposed to light, so the antibody must be protected from light.

Uniprot Description

NPHS2: Plays a role in the regulation of glomerular permeability, acting probably as a linker between the plasma membrane and the cytoskeleton. Defects in NPHS2 are the cause of nephrotic syndrome type 2 (NPHS2). It is a renal disorder characterized clinically by childhood onset of proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, hyperlipidemia, and edema. Kidney biopsies show non-specific histologic changes such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and diffuse mesangial proliferation. The disorder is resistant to steroid treatment and progresses to end-stage renal failure in the first or second decades. Some patients show later onset of the disorder. Belongs to the band 7/mec-2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q25.2

Cellular Component: protein complex; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; intercellular junction; lipid raft

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: actin cytoskeleton reorganization; excretion

Disease: Nephrotic Syndrome, Type 2

Product Notes

The PDCN nphs2 (Catalog #AAA2013663) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FITC-linked Antibody to Podocin (PDCN) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Podocin (PDCN) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB; ICC; IHC-P; IHC-F; ELISA, Flow Cyt, IF. Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 5-20ug/ml Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 0.05-2ug/ml Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PDCN nphs2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Podocin (PDCN), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
