Rabbit anti-Human Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-SERPINE1 antibody
Rabbit anti PAI-1
Recognizes Human PAI-1 both alone and in complex under reducing and native conditions.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the serine proteinase inhibitor (serpin) superfamily. This member is the principal inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase (uPA), and hence is an inhibitor of fibrinolysis. Defects in this gene are the cause of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency (PAI-1 deficiency), and high concentrations of the gene product are associated with thrombophilia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
Function: This inhibitor acts as 'bait' for tissue plasminogen activator, urokinase, and protein C. Its rapid interaction with TPA may function as a major control point in the regulation of fibrinolysis.
Subunit structure: Interacts with VTN. Binds LRP1B; binding is followed by internalization and degradation. Ref.14 Ref.16
Subcellular location: Secreted.
Tissue specificity: Found in plasma and platelets and in endothelial, hepatoma and fibrosarcoma cells.
Post-translational modification: Inactivated by proteolytic attack of the urokinase-type (u-PA) and the tissue-type (TPA), cleaving the 369-Arg-|-Met-370 bond.
Involvement in disease: Defects in SERPINE1 are the cause of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency (PAI-1D) [
MIM:613329]. It is a hematologic disorder characterized by increased bleeding after trauma, injury, or surgery. Affected females have menorrhagia. The bleeding defect is due to increased fibrinolysis of fibrin blood clots due to deficiency of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, which inhibits tissue and urinary activators of plasminogen. Ref.15Note=High concentrations of SERPINE1 seem to contribute to the development of venous but not arterial occlusions.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the serpin family.

Product Notes
The SERPINE1 serpine1 (Catalog #AAA315810) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti PAI-1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, EIA/ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERPINE1 serpine1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
