Rabbit PIK3R2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PIK3R2 antibody
PIK3R2 Antibody (N-term)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of PIK3R2 Antibody (N-term) polyclonal antibody (arrow). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected with the PIK3R2 gene (Lane 2) (Origene Technologies).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue reacted with PIK3R2 Antibody (N-term) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
PIK3R2 binds to activated Protein Tyrosine Kinases, which are phosphorylated, through its SH2 domain, and acts as an adaptor, mediating the association of the P110 catalytic unit to the plasma membrane.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) is a lipid kinase that phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol and similar compounds, creating second messengers important in growth signaling pathways. PI3K functions as a heterodimer of a regulatory and a catalytic subunit. The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory component of PI3K. Two transcript variants, one protein coding and the other non-protein coding, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]
Uniprot Description
PIK3R2: regulatory subunit of phosphoinositide-3-kinase. Mediates binding to a subset of tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins through its SH2 domain. Acts as an adapter, mediating the association of the p110 catalytic unit of the alpha, beta and delta enzymes to the plasma membrane, where p110 phosphorylates inositol lipids. May play an additional role in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. Necessary for the insulin-stimulated increase in glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in insulin-sensitive tissues. Its SH2 domains interacts with the YTHM motif of phosphorylated INSR in vitro. Defects in PIK3R1 are a cause of severe insulin resistance. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The PIK3R2 pik3r2 (Catalog #AAA9202752) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-30. The PIK3R2 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Mouse, Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PIK3R2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIK3R2 pik3r2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PIK3R2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
