Related Product Information for anti-PIDD1 antibody
This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against LRDD. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: The protein encoded by this gene contains a leucine-rich repeat and a death domain. This protein has been shown to interact with other death domain proteins, such as Fas (TNFRSF6)-associated via death domain (FADD) and MAP-kinase activating death domain-containing protein (MADD), and thus may function as an adaptor protein in cell death-related signaling processes. The expression of the mouse counterpart of this gene has been found to be positively regulated by the tumor suppressor p53 and to induce cell apoptosis in response to DNA damage, which suggests a role for this gene as an effector of p53-dependent apoptosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Uniprot Description

PIDD: Promotes apoptosis downstream of the tumor suppressor as component of the DNA damage/stress response pathway that connects p53/TP53 to apoptosis. Associates with NEMO/IKBKG and RIP1 and enhances sumoylation and ubiquitination of NEMO/IKBKG which is important for activation of the transcription factor NF-kappa-B. Associates with CASP2/caspase-2 and CRADD/RAIDD, and induces activation of CASP2 which an important regulator in apoptotic pathways. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; death receptor binding

Biological Process: caspase activation; positive regulation of apoptosis; signal transduction; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in cell cycle arrest; response to DNA damage stimulus; negative regulation of apoptosis; activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor

Product Notes

The PIDD1 pidd1 (Catalog #AAA3213264) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PIDD1 Antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PIDD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIDD1 pidd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RLQGNPLGEA SPDAPSSPVA ALIPEMPRLF LTSDLDSFPV TPQGCSVTLA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PIDD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
