NCBI Description

auxillary subunit of the L-type Ca(2+) channel [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CACNB2: The beta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels contributes to the function of the calcium channel by increasing peak calcium current, shifting the voltage dependencies of activation and inactivation, modulating G protein inhibition and controlling the alpha-1 subunit membrane targeting. Defects in CACNB2 are the cause of Brugada syndrome type 4 (BRGDA4). A heart disease characterized by the association of Brugada syndrome with shortened QT intervals. Brugada syndrome is a tachyarrhythmia characterized by right bundle branch block and ST segment elevation on an electrocardiogram (ECG). It can cause the ventricles to beat so fast that the blood is prevented from circulating efficiently in the body. When this situation occurs (called ventricular fibrillation), the individual will faint and may die in a few minutes if the heart is not reset. Belongs to the calcium channel beta subunit family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CACNB2 cacnb2 (Catalog #AAA542597) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Phospho CACNB2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Phospho-CACNB2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Dot Blot: 1:10,000 ELISA: 1:10,000 Western Blot: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CACNB2 cacnb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phospho-CACNB2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
