Liquid. Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline, pH7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Concentration
1mg/ml (varies by lot)
Applicable Applications for anti-PAPSS1 antibody
ELISA (EIA)(peptide)
Application Notes
ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000
Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from Human MYOCD.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
The N-terminal first 50 residues are required for inhibition by the substrate adenylyl sulfate. In the N-terminal section; belongs to the APS kinase family. In the C-terminal section; belongs to the sulfate adenylyltransferase family.
Subunit Structure
Homodimer.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in testis, pancreas, kidney, thymus, prostate, ovary, small intestine, colon, leukocytes and liver. Also expressed in high endothelial venules (HEV) cells and in cartilage.
Function
Bifunctional enzyme with both ATP sulfurylase and APS kinase activity, which mediates two steps in the sulfate activation pathway. The first step is the transfer of a sulfate group to ATP to yield adenosine 5'-phosphosulfate (APS), and the second step is the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to APS yielding 3'-phosphoadenylylsulfate (PAPS: activated sulfate donor used by sulfotransferase). In mammals, PAPS is the sole source of sulfate; APS appears to be only an intermediate in the sulfate-activation pathway. Required for normal biosynthesis of sulfated L-selectin ligands in endothelial cells.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

Three-prime-phosphoadenosine 5-prime-phosphosulfate (PAPS) is the sulfate donor cosubstrate for all sulfotransferase (SULT) enzymes (Xu et al., 2000 [PubMed 10679223]). SULTs catalyze the sulfate conjugation of many endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs and other xenobiotics. In humans, PAPS is synthesized from adenosine 5-prime triphosphate (ATP) and inorganic sulfate by 2 isoforms, PAPSS1 and PAPSS2 (MIM 603005).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

PAPSS1: Bifunctional enzyme with both ATP sulfurylase and APS kinase activity, which mediates two steps in the sulfate activation pathway. In mammals, PAPS is the sole source of sulfate; APS appears to be only an intermediate in the sulfate- activation pathway. Also involved in the biosynthesis of sulfated L-selectin ligands in endothelial cells.

Product Notes

The PAPSS1 papss1 (Catalog #AAA9629642) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PAPSS1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PAPSS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAPSS1 papss1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PAPSS1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
