Related Product Information for anti-P2RY2 antibody
The product of this gene belongs to the family of P2 receptors, which is activated by extracellular nucleotides and subdivided into P2X ligand-gated ion channels and P2Y G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This receptor, found on many cell types, is activated by ATP and UTP and is reported to be overexpressed on some cancer cell types. It is involved in many cellular functions, such as proliferation, apoptosis and inflammation. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.

Uniprot Description

P2Y2: a G-protein coupled receptor of the rhodopsin family. This family includes hormone, neurotransmitter and light receptors. Receptor for ATP and UTP coupled to G-proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The affinity range is UTP = ATP > ATP-gamma-S >> 2-methylthio-ATP = ADP. May participate in control of the cell cycle and proliferation.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, misc.; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13.5-q14.1

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: purinergic nucleotide receptor activity, G-protein coupled; receptor activity

Biological Process: regulation of vasodilation; cellular ion homeostasis; G-protein signaling, coupled to IP3 second messenger (phospholipase C activating)

Product Notes

The P2RY2 p2ry2 (Catalog #AAA9127009) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The P2RY2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's P2RY2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500 - 1:2000 IHC: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the P2RY2 p2ry2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "P2RY2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
