Related Product Information for anti-CDKN1B antibody
Rabbit anti p27/Kip1 (pThr187) antibody recognizes p27/Kip1, also known as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p27 or cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B, when phosphorylated at threonine 187. p27/Kip1 is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor (CKI) that belongs to the Cip/Kip protein family (Cerqueira et al. 2014).

p27/Kip1 inhibits cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) and cyclin-CDK complexes; playing a role in the regulation of cell cycle progression at G1 (Cerqueira et al. 2014). Phosphorylation of p27/Kip1 at threonine 187 by CDK2 leads to the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of p27/Kip by the 26S proteosome (Das et al. 2016).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, which shares a limited similarity with CDK inhibitor CDKN1A/p21. The encoded protein binds to and prevents the activation of cyclin E-CDK2 or cyclin D-CDK4 complexes, and thus controls the cell cycle progression at G1. The degradation of this protein, which is triggered by its CDK dependent phosphorylation and subsequent ubiquitination by SCF complexes, is required for the cellular transition from quiescence to the proliferative state. Mutations in this gene are associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type IV (MEN4). [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

Uniprot Description

Important regulator of cell cycle progression. Inhibits the kinase activity of CDK2 bound to cyclin A, but has little inhibitory activity on CDK2 bound to SPDYA (PubMed:28666995). Involved in G1 arrest. Potent inhibitor of cyclin E- and cyclin A-CDK2 complexes. Forms a complex with cyclin type D-CDK4 complexes and is involved in the assembly, stability, and modulation of CCND1-CDK4 complex activation. Acts either as an inhibitor or an activator of cyclin type D-CDK4 complexes depending on its phosphorylation state and/or stoichometry.

Product Notes

The CDKN1B cdkn1b (Catalog #AAA225298) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti p27/Kip1 (pThr187) reacts with Human, Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's p27/Kip1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC-Paraffin: 1:50-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDKN1B cdkn1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p27/Kip1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
