Applicable Applications for anti-OS9 antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA.
Immunogen
A C-terminal synthetic peptide made to isoform 1 of the human OS9 protein sequence (between residues 600-667). There are 3 isoforms of this protein. The immunogen used for both of these antibodies is conserved in isoforms 1, 2, and 3 of the human OS9 protein.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%) Freeze at -20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is highly expressed in osteosarcomas. This protein binds to the hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1), a key regulator of the hypoxic response and angiogenesis, and promotes the degradation of one of its subunits. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

OS9: Lectin which functions in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) quality control and ER-associated degradation (ERAD). May bind terminally misfolded non-glycosylated proteins as well as improperly folded glycoproteins, retain them in the ER, and possibly transfer them to the ubiquitination machinery and promote their degradation. Possible targets include TRPV4. Belongs to the OS-9 family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Endoplasmic reticulum

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum lumen

Molecular Function: protein binding; protease binding; glycoprotein binding; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: ER-associated protein catabolic process; protein ubiquitination during ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; protein ubiquitination; protein retention in ER; protein targeting

Product Notes

The OS9 os9 (Catalog #AAA612466) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The OS9 (OS-9, Amplified in Osteosarcoma) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's OS9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OS9 os9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OS9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
