NCBI Description

ODF3 is a component of sperm flagella outer dense fibers, which add stiffness, elastic recoil, and protection against shearing forces during sperm movement.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]

Uniprot Description

ODF3: Outer dense fibers are filamentous structures located on the outside of the axoneme in the midpiece and principal piece of the mammalian sperm tail. May help to maintain the passive elastic structures and elastic recoil of the sperm tail. Belongs to the ODF3 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA); Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; outer dense fiber

Biological Process: cell differentiation; multicellular organismal development; spermatogenesis

Product Notes

The ODF3 odf3 (Catalog #AAA7602206) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ODF3 Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ODF3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ODF3 odf3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ODF3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
