Related Product Information for anti-NFE2L2 antibody
The nuclear factor, erythroid 2 like 2 (NFE2L2) is an important transcription factor that protects cells from oxidative stress (OS). NFE2L2 deficiency in the placentas is associated with pregnancy complications. Phosphorylation of the transcription factor NFE2L2 controls mRNA abundance of genes encoding antioxidant proteins and enzymes. NFE2L2 pathway contributes to the environmental resistance of cancers by enhancing the antioxidant capacity. Nrf2 (encoded in humans by the NFE2L2 gene) is the master regulator of antioxidant defenses, a transcription factor that regulates the expression of more than 200 cytoprotective genes. Increasing evidence indicates that Nrf2 signaling plays a key role in how oxidative stress mediates the beneficial effects of exercise. NRF2 and its principal negative regulator, the E3 ligase adaptor Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1), are critical in the maintenance of redox, metabolic and protein homeostasis, as well as the regulation of inflammation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a transcription factor which is a member of a small family of basic leucine zipper (bZIP) proteins. The encoded transcription factor regulates genes which contain antioxidant response elements (ARE) in their promoters; many of these genes encode proteins involved in response to injury and inflammation which includes the production of free radicals. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Uniprot Description

NRF2: a transcription factor that regulates basal expression and antioxidant induction of a transcription factor for NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase-1 (NQO1) and other detoxifying genes. Targeted for proteasomal degradation by INrf2. Oxidative stress causes its phosphorylation and release from INrf2.

Product Notes

The NFE2L2 nfe2l2 (Catalog #AAA8103312) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Nrf2/NFE2L2 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nrf2/NFE2L2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NFE2L2 nfe2l2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nrf2/NFE2L2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
