Related Product Information for anti-NRF1 antibody
NRF1 (Nuclear Respiratory Factor 1) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes a protein that homodimerizes and functions as a transcription factor which activates the expression of some key metabolic genes. The encoded protein belongs to the NRF1/Ewg family. NRF1 serves as a transcription factor that activates the expression of a wide range of nuclear genes essential for mitochondrial biogenesis and function, including mitochondrial respiratory complex subunits, heme biosynthetic enzymes, and regulatory factors involved in the replication and transcription of mitochondrial DNA. NRF1 plays a crucial role in regulating the expression of a broad range of mitochondrial genes in the nucleus in response to cellular oxidative stress. The protein has also been associated with the regulation of neurite outgrowth.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that homodimerizes and functions as a transcription factor which activates the expression of some key metabolic genes regulating cellular growth and nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. The protein has also been associated with the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, which encode the same protein, have been characterized. Additional variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described but they have not been fully characterized. Confusion has occurred in bibliographic databases due to the shared symbol of NRF1 for this gene and for "nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 1" which has an official symbol of NFE2L1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NRF1: Transcription factor that activates the expression of the EIF2S1 (EIF2-alpha) gene. Links the transcriptional modulation of key metabolic genes to cellular growth and development. Implicated in the control of nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. Belongs to the NRF1/Ewg family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The NRF1 nrf1 (Catalog #AAA8101872) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NRF1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human Predicted to React with: Mouse (Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NRF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IHC-P: 1:200-1:500 ICC/IF: 1:300-1:10,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRF1 nrf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NRF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
