Related Product Information for anti-NLRX1 antibody
NOD5 Antibody: NOD5, also known as NLRX1, is a member of the NOD (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain) family, a group of proteins that are involved in innate immune defense. NOD5 localizes to the mitochondrial outer membrane and interacts with the virus-induced signaling adapter protein VISA. Unlike a subset of NOD-like receptors (NLRs) such as NOD1 and NOD2 which trigger pro-inflammatory cascades, and other NLRs that induce the caspase 1 inflammasome in response to immune challenges, NOD5 amplifies NF-κB and JNK pathways by inducing reactive oxygen species production.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the NLR family and localizes to the outer mitochondrial membrane. The encoded protein is a regulator of mitochondrial antivirus responses. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Uniprot Description

NLRX1: Participates in antiviral signaling. Acts as a negative regulator of MAVS-mediated antiviral responses, through the inhibition of the virus-induced RLH (RIG-like helicase)-MAVS interaction (PubMed:18200010). Has no inhibitory function on NF- Kappa-B and type 1 interferon signaling pathways, but enhances NF- Kappa-B and JUN N-terminal kinase dependent signaling through the production of reactive oxygen species (PubMed:18219313). Interacts with MAVS. Ubiquitously expressed. Strongest expression in mammary gland, heart and muscle. Detected in HeLa, HEK293T, THP-1, HL-60, Raji, and Jurkat cell lines. Belongs to the NLRP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.3

Cellular Component: mitochondrial outer membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: viral reproduction; negative regulation of innate immune response; negative regulation of inflammatory response; negative regulation of interleukin-6 production; innate immune response; negative regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; negative regulation of interferon type I production; negative regulation of interferon-beta production

Product Notes

The NLRX1 nlrx1 (Catalog #AAA151491) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NOD5 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NOD5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). NOD5 antibody can be used for detection of NOD5 by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 10 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NLRX1 nlrx1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NOD5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
