Related Product Information for anti-NFAT1 antibody
The NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) family of transcription factors regulates cytokine expression in T cells. Members of the family include NFATc1 (NFATc), NFATc2 (NFATp), NFATn, NFATc3 (NFAT4, NFATx) and NFATc4 (NFAT3). Recognition of antigen by the T cell receptor (TCR) eventually activates the calcium-dependent protein phosphatase calcineurin. Once activated, calcineurin stimulates the translocation of NFATc1 (cytoplasmic) from the cytoplasm to the nucleus where it associates with NFATn (nuclear). Like NFATc1, NFATc2 resides in the cytoplasm and translocates to the nucleus subsequent to activation of calcineurin. Once in the nucleus, NFATc2 synergizes with AP-1 transcription factors to initiate transcription of cytokine genes. NFATc3 and NFATc4 share 65% sequence identity with other members of the NFAT family. They are similar to NFATc2 in that they also synergize with the AP-1 family of proteins.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) family. The product of this gene is a DNA-binding protein with a REL-homology region (RHR) and an NFAT-homology region (NHR). This protein is present in the cytosol and only translocates to the nucleus upon T cell receptor (TCR) stimulation, where it becomes a member of the nuclear factors of activated T cells transcription complex. This complex plays a central role in inducing gene transcription during the immune response. Alternate transcriptional splice variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

Uniprot Description

NFAT1: a transcription factor that plays a role in the inducible expression of cytokine genes in T cells, especially in the induction of the IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, TNF-alpha and GM-CSF. It is present in a phosphorylated the cytosol of unstimulated T cells. After T-cell activation, it is dephosphorylated by calcineurin and translocates to the nucleus as a part of a transcription complex. Two splice variant isoforms have been identified.

Product Notes

The NFAT1 nfatc2 (Catalog #AAA3013118) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NFAT1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NFAT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500 ICC: 1:50-1:200 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NFAT1 nfatc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NFAT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
