Goat Neurogranin, NRGN Polyclonal Antibody | anti-NRGN antibody
Neurogranin, NRGN (Protein Kinase C Substrate, RC3)
Purified by peptide affinity chromatography.
Purified by peptide affinity chromatography.
Dilution: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:8000
Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml detects ~15kD band observed in Human Brain (Cerebral Cortex and Hippocampus), and in Mouse Brain and Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 7.6kD according to NP_006167.1). There is also an additional 16kD band. The observed molecular weights correspond to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Li et al, J Biol Chem. 1999 Jan 15;274(3):1294-300;
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Neurogranin (NRGN) is the human homolog of the neuron-specific rat RC3/neurogranin gene. This gene encodes a postsynaptic protein kinase substrate that binds calmodulin in the absence of calcium. The NRGN gene contains four exons and three introns. The exons 1 and 2 encode the protein and exons 3 and 4 contain untranslated sequences. It is suggested that the NRGN is a direct target for thyroid hormone in human brain, and that control of expression of this gene could underlay many of the consequences of hypothyroidism on mental states during development as well as in adult subjects. Uniprot Description
neurogranin: Acts as a third messenger substrate of protein kinase C-mediated molecular cascades during synaptic development and remodeling. Binds to calmodulin in the absence of calcium. Belongs to the neurogranin family.
Protein type: Cell development/differentiation
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q24
Cellular Component: intracellular
Molecular Function: calmodulin binding
Biological Process: nervous system development; signal transduction

Product Notes
The NRGN nrgn (Catalog #AAA623565) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neurogranin, NRGN (Protein Kinase C Substrate, RC3) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neurogranin, NRGN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:8000 Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml detects ~15kD band observed in Human Brain (Cerebral Cortex and Hippocampus), and in Mouse Brain and Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 7.6kD according to NP_006167.1). There is also an additional 16kD band. The observed molecular weights correspond to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Li et al, J Biol Chem. 1999 Jan 15;274(3):1294-300;. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRGN nrgn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurogranin, NRGN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
