NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a serine/threonine-protein kinase that is involved in mitotic regulation. This protein is localized to the centrosome, and undetectable during G1 phase, but accumulates progressively throughout the S phase, reaching maximal levels in late G2 phase. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms with distinct C-termini have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
NEK2: a protein kinase of the NEK family. Accumulates throughout S phase and shows maximal levels in late G2. This expression pattern is highly reminiscent of that of A and B cyclins. Phosphorylation of Hec1 by Nek2 is essential for faithful chromosome segregation

Product Notes
The NEK2 nek2 (Catalog #AAA612197) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NEK2 (NIMA-Related Kinase 2, Never in mitosis A) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NEK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA. Dilution: ELISA: 1:2000-1:8000; against 0.1ug of the immunizing peptide. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NEK2 nek2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NEK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
