Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of NDUFB5 staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the multisubunit NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I). Mammalian complex I is composed of 45 different subunits. It locates at the mitochondrial inner membrane. This protein has NADH dehydrogenase activity and oxidoreductase activity. It transfers electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

NDUFB5: Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed not to be involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Belongs to the complex I NDUFB5 subunit family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Mitochondrial; Oxidoreductase; EC 1.6.99.3; Membrane protein, integral; Energy Metabolism - oxidative phosphorylation; EC 1.6.5.3

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q26.33

Cellular Component: mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I; mitochondrion; nucleoplasm

Biological Process: mitochondrial electron transport, NADH to ubiquinone; mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I assembly

Product Notes

The NDUFB5 ndufb5 (Catalog #AAA8247523) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NDUFB5 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NDUFB5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000, Immunohistochemistry: 1/50 - 1/100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NDUFB5 ndufb5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NDUFB5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
