NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the N-deacetylase/N-sulfotransferase subfamily of the sulfotransferase 1 proteins. The encoded enzyme has dual functions in processing glucosamine and heparin polymers, including N-deacetylation and N-sulfation. The encoded protein may be localized to the Golgi. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Uniprot Description
NDST2: Essential bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes both the N- deacetylation and the N-sulfation of glucosamine (GlcNAc) of the glycosaminoglycan in heparan sulfate. Modifies the GlcNAc-GlcA disaccharide repeating sugar backbone to make N-sulfated heparosan, a prerequisite substrate for later modifications in heparin biosynthesis. Plays a role in determining the extent and pattern of sulfation of heparan sulfate. Belongs to the sulfotransferase 1 family. NDST subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral; Glycan Metabolism - heparan sulfate biosynthesis; EC 2.8.2.8; Transferase
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q22
Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: [heparan sulfate]-glucosamine N-sulfotransferase activity; deacetylase activity

Product Notes
The NDST2 ndst2 (Catalog #AAA2400344) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NDST2 Antibody (N-Terminus) IHC-plus reacts with Mouse, Rat, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NDST2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). IF (20 ug/ml) IHC-P (10 ug/ml) WB (1 - 2 ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NDST2 ndst2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NDST2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
