Related Product Information for anti-Nav1.5 antibody
SKM2, SCNSA Voltage-gated Na+ channels (Nav) are responsible for myocardial conduction and maintenance of the cardiac rhythm and are essential for the generation of action potentials and cell excitability.1 Dysfunction or disregulation of cardiac sodium channels can cause several disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias. The majority of Na+ channels in the mammalian heart are Tetrodotoxin (TTX)-insensitive Nav1.5.2 The putative structure of NaV1.5 consists of four homologous domain (I-IV), each containing six transmembrane segments (S1-S6). Mutations in the C-terminus of NaV1.5 were described in connection to Long QT syndrome and Brugada syndrome.1-2 Recent data have demonstrated selective expression of NaV1.5 in the mouse central nervous system and implicated a role for NaV1.5 in the physiology of the central nervous system.1

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit. This protein is found primarily in cardiac muscle and is responsible for the initial upstroke of the action potential in an electrocardiogram. Defects in this gene are a cause of long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), an autosomal dominant cardiac disease. Alternative splicing results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Product Notes

The Nav1.5 (Catalog #AAA4159181) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Nav1.5 Antibody reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nav1.5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: Rat heart membranes and human-Nav1.5 transfected HEK-293 cells (1:100-1:200) IHC: Rat heart paraffin sections. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Nav1.5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nav1.5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
