Related Product Information for anti-MTMR1 antibody
This gene encodes a dual-specificity phosphatase that acts on both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine. It is required for muscle cell differentiation and mutations in this gene have been identified as being responsible for X-linked myotubular myopathy.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the myotubularin related family of proteins. Members of this family contain the consensus sequence for the active site of protein tyrosine phosphatases. Alternatively spliced variants have been described but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MTMR1: Lipid phosphatase that acts on phosphatidylinositol 3- phosphate and phosphatidylinositol (3,5)-bisphosphate. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Non-receptor class myotubularin subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.1.3.64; Protein phosphatase, tyrosine (non-receptor); Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - thiamine; Carbohydrate Metabolism - fructose and mannose; Phosphatase, lipid; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - riboflavin

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq28

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphatase activity; protein tyrosine phosphatase activity

Biological Process: phospholipid metabolic process; phosphatidylinositol biosynthetic process; phosphoinositide dephosphorylation

Product Notes

The MTMR1 mtmr1 (Catalog #AAA630467) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Myotubular Myopathy 1 (MTM1, CNM, MTMX, Myotubularin, XLMTM) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Myotubular Myopathy 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000 Western Blot: ~70kD band observed in lysates of Human Muscle and of cell line HepG2 (calculated MW of 69.9kD according to NP_000243.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing MTM1 a band of approx. 65kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MTMR1 mtmr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myotubular Myopathy 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
