Related Product Information for anti-MyoD antibody
MyoD encodes a nuclear protein that is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors and the myogenic factors subfamily. It regulates muscle cell differentiation by inducing cell cycle arrest which is required for myogenic initiation. MyoD is also involved in muscle regeneration. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize the commitment to myogenesis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein that belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors and the myogenic factors subfamily. It regulates muscle cell differentiation by inducing cell cycle arrest, a prerequisite for myogenic initiation. The protein is also involved in muscle regeneration. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize commitment to myogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MyoD: a transcription factor of the basic helix-loop-helix family and the myogenic factors subfamily. Involved in muscle differentiation. Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. It is involved in muscle cell differentiation, and is essential for repair of damaged tissue. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize commitment to myogenesis.

Product Notes

The MyoD myod1 (Catalog #AAA191088) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MyoD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblotting (IB). Immunoblotting: use at dilution of 1:500-1:1,000. A band of ~40kDa is detected. Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MyoD myod1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MyoD, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
