Related Product Information for anti-MYO1A antibody
This gene encodes a member of the myosin superfamily. The protein represents an unconventional myosin; it should not be confused with the conventional skeletal muscle myosin-1 (MYH1). Unconventional myosins contain the basic domains characteristic of conventional myosins and are further distinguished from class members by their tail domains. They function as actin-based molecular motors. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal dominant deafness. Alternatively spliced variants have been found for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the myosin superfamily. The protein represents an unconventional myosin; it should not be confused with the conventional skeletal muscle myosin-1 (MYH1). Unconventional myosins contain the basic domains characteristic of conventional myosins and are further distinguished from class members by their tail domains. They function as actin-based molecular motors. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal dominant deafness. Alternatively spliced variants have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description

MYO1A: Involved in directing the movement of organelles along actin filaments (Potential). Defects in MYO1A are the cause of deafness autosomal dominant type 48 (DFNA48). DFNA48 is a form of sensorineural hearing loss. Sensorineural deafness results from damage to the neural receptors of the inner ear, the nerve pathways to the brain, or the area of the brain that receives sound information.

Protein type: Motor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Actin-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13-q14

Cellular Component: apical plasma membrane; basal plasma membrane; basolateral plasma membrane; brush border; cell soma; cortical actin cytoskeleton; cytoplasm; filamentous actin; growth cone; lateral plasma membrane; leading edge; microvillus; myosin complex

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; ATP binding; calmodulin binding; motor activity

Biological Process: metabolic process; microvillus biogenesis; regulation of protein localization; sensory perception of sound; vesicle localization

Disease: Deafness, Autosomal Dominant 48

Product Notes

The MYO1A myo1a (Catalog #AAA9129384) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MYO1A Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MYO1A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:200 - 1:2000, IHC: 1:20 - 1:200, IF: 1:10 - 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MYO1A myo1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYO1A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
