Related Product Information for anti-MPC1 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is part of an MPC1/MPC2 heterodimer that is responsible for transporting pyruvate into mitochondria. The encoded protein is found in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Defects in this gene are a cause of mitochondrial pyruvate carrier deficiency. Several transcript variants, some protein coding and one non-protein coding, have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

BRP44L: Mediates the uptake of pyruvate into mitochondria. Defects in MPC1 are the cause of mitochondrial pyruvate carrier deficiency (MPYCD). An autosomal recessive metabolic disorder characterized by severely delayed psychomotor development, mild dysmorphic features, hepatomegaly, marked metabolic acidosis, hyperlactacidemia with normal lactate/pyruvate, and encephalopathy. Some patients have epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy. Belongs to the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC) family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q27

Cellular Component: integral to mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrion

Molecular Function: pyruvate transmembrane transporter activity

Disease: Mitochondrial Pyruvate Carrier Deficiency

Product Notes

The MPC1 mpc1 (Catalog #AAA9415566) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MPC1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MPC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MPC1 mpc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MPC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
