Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(At 1/200 staining Rat kidney tissue sections by IHC-P. The tissue was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The tissue was then blocked and incubated with the Ab for 1.5 hours at 22 degree C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit Ab was used as the secondary.)

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the MAP kinase superfamily. The gene was found to be regulated by caudal type transcription factor 2 (Cdx2) protein. The encoded protein, which is localized to epithelial cells in the intestinal crypt, may play a role in growth arrest and differentiation of cells of upper crypt and lower villus regions. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]

Uniprot Description

MOK: a CMGC protein kinase of the RCK family. Possesses a Thr-Glu-Tyr motif in the activation loop domain, as do classical MAP kinases. Associates with and is apparently stabilized by HSP90.

Protein type: CMGC group; EC 2.7.11.22; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, CMGC; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); RCK family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.31

Cellular Component: cilium; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein kinase activity; protein serine/threonine kinase activity

Biological Process: signal transduction

Product Notes

The MOK mok (Catalog #AAA9386091) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOK (Phospho-Tyr161) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MOK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1000-3000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MOK mok for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MOK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
