Related Product Information for anti-MMP24 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Matrix metalloproteinase-24(MMP24) detection. Tested with WB in Human, Mouse, Rat.
Background: Matrix metalloproteinase-24, also known as MT5MMP or MMP25, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MMP24 gene. Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase(MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. However, the protein encoded by this gene is a member of the membrane-type MMP(MT-MMP) subfamily; each member of this subfamily contains a potential transmembrane domain suggesting that these proteins are expressed at the cell surface rather than secreted. This protein activates MMP2 by cleavage. The gene has previously been referred to as MMP25 but has been renamed MMP24. This gene may be a proteoglycanase involved in degradation of proteoglycans, such as dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans.

Product Notes

The MMP24 mmp24 (Catalog #AAA176802) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-MMP24 antibody reacts with Reacts with: Human Predicted to work with: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMP24 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot (WB): Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Tested Species: Hu Predicted Species: Ms, Rat Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. Predicted Species: Species predicted to be fit for the product based on sequence similarities. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP24 mmp24 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP24, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
