This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against MLX. It was validated on Western Blot

Target Description: The product of this gene belongs to the family of basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factors. These factors form heterodimers with Mad proteins and play a role in proliferation, determination and differentiation. This gene product may act to diversify Mad family function by its restricted association with a subset of the Mad family of transcriptional repressors, namely, Mad1 and Mad4. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.

Uniprot Description

MLX: Transcription regulator. Forms a sequence-specific DNA- binding protein complex with MAD1, MAD4, MNT, WBSCR14 and MLXIP which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CACGTG-3'. The TCFL4-MAD1, TCFL4-MAD4, TCFL4-WBSCR14 complexes are transcriptional repressors. Plays a role in transcriptional activation of glycolytic target genes. Involved in glucose-responsive gene regulation. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; DNA binding; protein heterodimerization activity; transcription factor activity; transcription factor binding

Product Notes

The MLX mlx (Catalog #AAA3210357) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MLX Antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MLX can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MLX mlx for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LFVESTRKGS VVSRANSIGS TSASSVPNTD DEDSDYHQEA YKESYKDRRR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MLX, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
